The varsity guys and girls took a trip to Chicago to compete in the Blackhawk Stampede. We started out on Friday and stopped in Delaware, Ohio (just north of Columbus) to watch the All Ohio Collegiate Cross Country Championships. We got to see and cheer for several alumni who were competing for their schools - Dan Flaute and Mike Triola at Bowling Green, Nichole Moorman at Xavier, Denise Schutte and James Tokarz at Ohio University, and Beth Garrison at Ohio Northern. Exciting races!

We arrived in Chicago late Friday night and competed in the varsity races on Saturday. Several strong teams from the Chicago area were in both the men’s and women’s fields. We finished 5^th out of 15 in the women’s field and 8^th out of 20 in the men’s. It was a good experience to race in a large competitive meet.

Saturday night we all dressed up and hit the big city. We ate at a real nice, authentic Italian restaurant that served us more food than we had ever seen. Sunday we did some more sight-seeing on Michigan Avenue and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Another great trip!

Everyone should make a goal to work hard and make varsity so you can go on an exciting trip next year!
