CARROLL WOMEN WIN AT TREATY CITY INVITE
The Lady Patriots, led by Katie Flaute and Leighann Kramer’s 2-3 finish in 19:38 and 19:44, placed their top 5 runners in the top 15 to claim the team title with 39 points. Lynda Wourms finished 9th in 20:48, followed by Maggie LaSelle, 10th in 21:13; Jessica Stickel, 15th in 21:48; Molly Holbrook, 22nd in 22:12; and Katie Ballman, 28th in 22:53.
The Patriot men used some strong running up front to take 4th place in a strong field behind LaSalle, Eaton, and Northmont. Seth Chaney, Derrick Himmelburg, and Mike LaSelle raced to 5th, 6th, and 7th in 16:39, 16:46, and 16:47 followed by James Borchers, 36th in 18:25; Dave Bereda, 43rd in 18:41; Nick Culver, 45th in 18:45; and Casey Miller, 47th in 18:51.
The men’s reserve race featured a tough pack of young Patriots working together to finish 1-3-4-6. Paul Carter was the individual champion in 18:51, with Matt Doran, Tony Holtvoigt, and Craig Luehrs finishing 3rd , 4th, and 6th in 18:55, 19:05, and 19:12. Two freshman and two sophomores showing great promise for the future! The Patriots won the reserve team title with a low 39 points.
