MEN AND WOMEN CROSS COUNTRY MML CHAMPIONS!
9 YEARS IN A ROW!
The Carroll Cross Country teams successfully defended their titles in both the men’s and women’s Mid Miami League Championships. The victories extended the Patriots winning streak to 9 consecutive years for both teams. Senior Leighann Kramer was the individual champion in the women’s race and junior Seth Chaney claimed the runner-up spot in the men’s race.

CROSS COUNTRY RESERVE TEAMS DOMINATE MML
The Carroll men’s and women’s reserve teams led the way to a sweep of the Mid Miami League Cross Country Championships at Indian Riffle Park on Saturday. Both reserve teams dominated the field, with the Patriot women claiming the top 14 places, and the men scoring a near perfect 18 points. The Carroll varsity teams then followed with men’s and women’s victories as well.
The Phillips sisters led the way in the women’s reserve race with a one-two finish. Freshman Mary Phillips was the individual champion in 22:58, followed by senior Rachel Phillips in 23:23. Freshman Jenelle Borchers finished 3rd in 23:29, followed by sophomore Pam Daley (4th in 23:34), Christy Pastor (5th in 23:58), Christy Jenkins (6th in 24:16), Katie Must (7th in 25:03), Ashley Peeden (8th in 25:34), Michelle Jacobs (9th in 26:25), Vanessa Beall (10th in 26:37), Melissa Bertolo (11th in 26:41), Stephanie VanDerSluijs (12th in 26:58), Kathryn Davis (13th in 27:42), Amber Zimmer (14th in 27:43), and Gabrielle Stout (16th in 29:37).
Freshman Tony Holtvoigt was the individual champion in the men’s reserve race, leading a 1-2-3 Patriot finish with sophomores Matt Doran and Craig Luehrs in 18:49, 19:07, and 19:11. The other Patriot runners contributing to the victory were:
